| 1860 - The first Methodist Church in Lincoln Township was built in Walkerton at the corner of what is now Van Buren and Virginia Streets. |

1874 - The Island church (also known as Union Church and Church of God) was built a few miles from Walkerton, located in LaPorte County on Plymouth LaPorte Trail. The church was used by Adventist, Methodist and United Brethren congregations. |

1904 - The Evangelical United Brethren Church was built at the corner of what is now Van Buren and Michigan Streets |

1906 - The Cobblestone Church (Methodist) was built at the corner of what is now Van Buren and Illinois Streets |

1936 - The Cobblestone Church was destroyed by fire |

1937 - The Methodist congregation erected a new building at the location of the Cobblestone Church |

Jan. 23, 1966 - The Methodist Congregation, led by Rev. Harold Williams, left their sanctuary during the worship service and made a snowy walk to the Evangelical United Brethren Church to form a new congregation. |

| 1966 - The merging of Walkerton Methodist Church and the Walkerton Evangelical United Brethren Church was the first merging of a Methodist congregation and a United Brethren congregation in the nation, approximately two years before the national merger. |

Mar. 30, 1969 - Ground was broken for a new United Methodist Church to be built at 1000 Georgia Street |

May 10, 1970 - The cornerstone was placed in the new church on Georgia Street |

May 17, 1970 - A thanksgiving and consecration service was held to dedicate the new building with District Superintendent Dr. Donald F. McMahan officiating |

| June 28, 1992 - The new Fellowship/Education Center was dedicated |
